Process Technology
Coastline College’s Process Technology program prepares students with the foundational technical knowledge and practical skills needed to pursue entry-level employment as process technicians across a variety of industrial sectors.
The curriculum introduces the principles and operations involved in chemical processing, including the extraction, refinement, production, transportation, and monitoring of materials such as oil, natural gas, chemicals, and other industrial products. Students develop an understanding of process equipment, instrumentation, safety procedures, quality control, environmental regulations, and the operation of complex production systems. Emphasis is placed on safe work practices, troubleshooting, teamwork, and the accurate monitoring of industrial processes. Upon completion, students will be prepared to seek employment in industries such as petroleum refining, chemical manufacturing, energy production, utilities, pharmaceuticals, food processing, and other advanced manufacturing environments.
