CSU Associate Degree for Transfer: CSU ADT
With over 20 Associate in Arts for Transfer (AA-T) and Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T) degrees, Coastline College helps students gain admission degree guarantees to a CSU campus in a related major. See if your major is an AA-T or AS-T by visiting the Associate Degree for Transfer webpage.
The curriculum for an AA-T or AS-T differs from traditional AA or AS degrees in that the AA-T or AS-T courses align to similar academic majors and curriculum at a California State University campus.
Completing an AA-T or AS-T in your major results in:
- Priority consideration for transfer admission to some of the more competitive or impacted majors and/or campuses in the CSU system.
- An offer to redirect you to an open CSU campus should you not get admitted to the one(s) you apply for.
- After transferring your Coastline AA-T or AS-T, complete your bachelor's degree at the CSU with completion of another 60 semester units (120 units total).
Please note: Students who earn an AA-T or AS-T degree and meet the CSU minimum eligibility requirements are guaranteed admission to the CSU system, but not necessarily to your preferred CSU campus or major.

The University of California Dual Admission program supports recent high school graduates who want to transfer to a UC by granting a conditional admission to a participating campus. The UC Dual Admission program is for recent high school graduates (first year applicants) who applied, but were not admitted to a UC campus. The University of California will invite first year applicants to join this conditional transfer guarantee program.
Who can participate?
Freshman applicants are selected for Dual Admission by the University of California. If you received the invitation, you’ve been selected for UC Dual Admission!
What are the benefits of participating in the Dual Admission program?
Dual Admission is a conditional admission guarantee to a UC campus with a Transfer Admission Guarantee program. The University of California will contact and invite recent high school graduates to participate. Participants who opt-in are offered extra support from UC while they fulfill their transfer requirements.
Requirements
Open to any California resident high school senior who applied for freshman admission and meet the following criteria:
- Has applied but not been admitted to a UC campus.
- Has a 3.0 UC GPA at the time of application.
- Is missing one or more A-G subject requirements at the time of high school graduation.
- Is graduating from a California high school.
*Students have until the specified deadline to opt into the program.
Once a student opts into the program, they are required to select a UC campus prior to beginning their first semester at Coastline College.
Once enrolled at Coastline College, a student can change their major; however, if they switch their major that is not available under the UC Dual Admissions agreement at their chosen UC campus, then the student will no longer have guarantee of admission.
