23-CSU Campus Websites and Admission Information
Why transfer to a CSU?
- Location of a CSU to home or work - 23 Campuses
- Flexible part-time schedules with evening and weekend courses
- Has select BA-BS majors online programs thru CSU Extension
- On a semester system similar to Coastline's
- CSU tuition rate and costs compared to UC or Private Universities
Coastline transfer graduates can apply to any one of the 23 CSU campuses. Keep in mind how impaction and local admission/service area may affect your application status.
Coastline offers the Associate in Art for Transfer (AA-T) and the Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T) degrees that are two-year associate degrees and fully transferable to the CSU. CSU transfer students earn no more than 60 semester units or 90 quarter units as Upper Degree Transfers (UDTs).
With these Associate Degrees for Transfer - sometimes called a Degree with a Guarantee - Coastline students, who meet the CSU's minimum eligibility requirements, are guaranteed priority admission to a CSU campus, though not necessarily to a particular campus or major.
With a Transfer Degree, students will be able to earn two degrees - the associate's degree and a bachelor's degree - with only 120 units, provided one transfers into a program at the CSU that's similar to their Associate's at Coastline.

Local Preferences
CSU Local Admission and Service Areas
CSU campuses, specifically in Southern Califorina, receive the highest umber of applications - more than each campus can admit. This is CSU impaction. Check CSU campuses and the community colleges within their local admission and service areas.
Out of 23 CSU campuses, the majority of Coastline graduates transfer to CSUF (Fullerton) and CSULB (Long Beach).
Our CSU local admission and service area is CSU Fullerton. A Coastline transfer graduate applying to CSU Fullerton will receive preference admission consideration - get an admissions offer! - with moderate GPA cutoffs compared to applicants who graduated from non-Orange County community colleges and may need to meet higher GPA cut-offs. CSUs determine local admission/service area by the college attended, not the applicant's residence.
Meet with Nathin Deon Dolor Mabale, CSUF Outreach, Recruitment and Orientation Counselor!
Schedule a 30-minute appointment with Nathin Deon Dolor Mabale to discuss transfer in greater detail with CSU Fullerton.
You are invited to CSUF's Zoom Webinar Series. These Zoom sessions will increase your preparedness for transfer and network with the CSUF students. Start connecting with CSUF and select workshop topics that include Financial Aid, Next Steps, Housing, + more!
CSU Long Beach determines which transfer applicants will receive "Local Preference" for admission consideration based on specific high school graduated and by military veteran status, not by local admission and service area. Students who graduated from Long Beach high schools or specific OC High Schools (check OC High Schools here) will be given preference for admission consideration. Bragging Rights: CSU Long Beach receives the highest number of applications within the CSU system which drives admission competitiveness.
Have questions or want to discuss areas of transfer best answered by CSU Long Beach? Meet with CSULB counselors Julien Benjamin and Ashley Alvarez by making a counseling appointment HERE.
