Did you know that national and state parks hire geologists? Geologists work in the following areas: environmental protection, environmental remediation, water management, oil and gas, seismic hazard assessment, surveying, volcanic hazard assessment, geotechnical engineering, and mining.
With the environment continuing to be a hot topic, geologists are needed more than ever. And not every geology-related job requires work outside - there are many lab-based jobs and eventual teaching opportunities, too.
