How To Get Involved

The Associated Student Government (ASG) is the official voice of the student body. ASG provides opportunities to learn about governance, advocacy, leadership, and event planning. There are many ways to get involved with ASG depending on your availability, interests, and career goals! Participation does not require that you have previous experience with student body advocacy. Only that you have a willingness to make a difference, be an advocate for your fellow students, and an interest in doing the best job you possibly can to make Coastline a better place for all who attend. For more information or to apply, visit the ASG webpage or contact Carlos Amescua, Director, Student Leadership & Engagement.

Campus Clubs provide a range of opportunities for you to develop your leadership skills, connect with staff and faculty, and contribute to student life at Coastline. You can join an existing club or start your own club! Coastline clubs can be 100% online. For more information, visit the Clubs & Organizations or contact Carlos Amescua, Director, Student Leadership & Engagement.

Each Fall and Spring semester, eligible Coastline students will receive an invitation to join the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). Coastline's NSLS chapter is 100% online and is a great way to engage as an online or in-person student.
NSLS membership is for life and provides access to benefits including scholarships and awards, exclusive on-campus events, employer recruitment through an online job bank, and much more. Students interested in transferring may transfer their membership to a participating institution.
Were you invited to join NSLS, but concerned about the cost to join? Coastline's Student Life and Associated Student Government (ASG) currently offers a fee waiver scholarship that helps pay for the $95 membership fee. A limited number of scholarships will be available each semester and is contingent upon available funding. To qualify, students must be enrolled in 5 units or more, and have a 2.0 GPA or higher.
