10/10 - Stepping into the Light
Join us for an UndocuQueer student art gallery and open mic! Students who identify as LGBTQIA+ and/or Undocumented are encouraged to share their art and poetry. There will also be an opportunity to create your own art during the event. Food and refreshments will be served.

10/11 - Navigating Identity and Leadership: A Conversation with Dr. Ángel González
Join us on National Coming Out Day for a transformative workshop in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month and LGBTQ+ History Month, featuring Dr. Ángel González, an esteemed Assistant Professor of Higher Education Administration and Leadership. As a queer, non-binary, and Latinx individual, Dr. González brings a unique perspective to the discussion on cultural and identity navigation. Hear Dr. González share their personal journey as a first-generation college student, detailing how their family and community played a pivotal role in their educational path and highlighting the importance of student advocacy and activism. In this space, you are invited to embrace your full self, find your voice, and connect in community with other Coastline students! After the workshop, join Student Mental Health Services for follow-up group meetings to continue the conversation.

Coastline students are invited to join OCC Pride Scholars for a Queer Interfaith Panel in collaboration with Fairview Community Church where LGBTQ+ people of different spiritual backgrounds will share their experiences with their religions and how their LGBTQ+ identities have influenced their spiritual journey.

10/23 - Red Flag or Green Flag- Exploring Healthy Relationships
Relationships exist in every aspect of our lives. In this workshop we will discuss the green and red flags of relationships. Including how to recognize intimate partner violence and resources for support. Join us for an engaging workshop on how to recognize and set boundaries that may assist in leading to a healthy green flag relationship.

11/8 - The Joy of Being Your Strange Self: A Conversation with Lisa Macafee
Join us for an inspiring workshop featuring Lisa Macafee, an academic counselor, doctoral student, and researcher who identifies as autistic, non-binary, and autigender with multiple disabilities. Lisa will share their personal journey of how embracing labels has been empowering, helping them understand that they are not broken, just different. Through their story, Lisa will highlight the importance of self-kindness and acceptance, and the transformative power of therapy in confronting internalized ableism, transphobia, and homophobia. In this space, you are invited to embrace your full self, find your voice, and connect in community with other Coastline students! After the workshop, join Student Mental Health Services for follow-up group meetings to continue the conversation.
