❓ Do I get paid for WEE?
Work Experience Education is an academic course and does not provide payment to students. Whether you are paid depends on your employer and the type of work experience.
Students may participate through paid employment, unpaid internships, volunteer positions, apprenticeships, or approved self-employment.

❓ Do I need a job before enrolling?
Yes. Students should have an eligible work experience before enrolling in a Work Experience Education course.
If you're still seeking employment or an internship, Career Education may be able to connect you with available resources.

❓ Can I work remotely or hybrid?
Yes. Remote or hybrid work experiences may qualify if they meet course requirements and are approved by your WEE Instructor.
Your Site Supervisor must still be able to supervise your work, verify your work hours, support your learning objectives, and complete the required evaluations.

❓ Does my employer have to agree?
Yes. Your employer and Site Supervisor should be aware that you are participating in Work Experience Education.
Your Site Supervisor will:
- Review your learning objectives.
- Verify your work hours.
- Complete your final evaluation.
Before enrolling, discuss the program with your supervisor to ensure they are willing to participate throughout the semester.

If your employer or Site Supervisor is unwilling to participate in Work Experience Education, your work experience may not qualify.
Contact your WEE Instructor or the Career Education Department to discuss available options.

❓ What does my Site Supervisor do?
Your Site Supervisor supports your Work Experience Education experience by:
- Reviewing your learning objectives.
- Providing workplace guidance.
- Verifying your work hours.
- Completing the required final evaluation.

❓ What if my supervisor changes?
Notify your WEE Instructor immediately if your Site Supervisor changes during the semester.
Your instructor may require updated documentation to ensure your Work Experience Education records remain accurate.

❓ How many WEE units can I take?Students may enroll in 0.5 to 14 units of Work Experience Education, subject to instructor approval, course availability, and California Community College regulations.

❓ Can I change my WEE units?
If you need to change the number of WEE units you're enrolled in, contact your WEE Instructor immediately.
Unit changes are subject to instructor approval, registration deadlines, and Coastline College policies.

❓ What are learning objectives?
Learning objectives are measurable goals that describe the new knowledge, skills, and professional competencies you plan to develop during your Work Experience Education experience.

❓ How many work hours are required?
The number of required work hours depends on the number of WEE units in which you are enrolled.
Please refer to Step 8: Complete Your Required Work Hours for the current Work Hours by Unit table.

❓ What if my job changes?
Notify your WEE Instructor immediately if your employer, Site Supervisor, work schedule, work location, or job duties change.
Additional documentation or approval may be required.

❓ Can I have multiple employers?
Possibly. Students working for more than one employer should contact their WEE Instructor before reporting work hours.
Your instructor will determine whether multiple work experiences may be used to satisfy course requirements.

❓ What if I lose my job?
If you lose your job, internship, or volunteer placement during the semester, contact your WEE Instructor immediately.
Your instructor will discuss available options and explain how the change may affect your course.

❓ What if I don't finish my hours?
Students are expected to complete all required work hours before the end of the semester.
If unexpected circumstances prevent you from completing your hours, contact your instructor as soon as possible.

❓ How do I submit my Work Hours Log?Complete your Work Hours Log throughout the semester, obtain Site Supervisor approval if required, and upload or submit it according to your instructor's directions and deadlines.
🎓 Course Completion

❓ What evaluations are required?Students must complete the Professional Skills Post-Evaluation, and Site Supervisors must complete the required Final Evaluation before course completion.

❓ What if I miss a deadline?
If you miss a course deadline, contact your WEE Instructor immediately.
Late submissions may affect successful completion of the course. Your instructor will explain any available options based on course policies.

❓ How is my final grade determined?
Your instructor will assign your final grade after verifying that you have:
- Completed your required work hours.
- Submitted all required forms.
- Completed all evaluations.
- Met all course requirements.
- Satisfied course deadlines.
🔁 Future Enrollment

❓ Can I take WEE more than once?Yes. Students may enroll in Work Experience Education during multiple semesters, provided they continue to meet eligibility requirements and receive instructor approval.

❓ Can I use the same job again?Yes. Students may continue using the same employer in future semesters if the work experience remains eligible and new learning objectives are established for each enrollment.
