Financial Aid (FAFSA)
Receiving educational funds through an employer's educational assistance program does not disqualify any student from applying for financial aid. Federal Financial Aid may be available to students who qualify. Financial Aid programs include Pell Grants, SEOG (Supplemental Equal Opportunity Grant), Perkins Loan, Stafford Loans (Subsidized and Unsubsidized), and Plus Loan.
In general, to qualify for aid you must be enrolled each semester and demonstrate financial eligibility through the regular application (FAFSA) process.
Financial aid funds will be applied directly to a student's outstanding balance with Coastline before monies are issued to the student. Financial Aid recipients should check their financial aid status in MyCoast to confirm that they are scheduled to receive a disbursement.
For more information about Federal Financial Aid opportunities, as well as an overview of the Financial Aid Process and instructions on getting started, visit Cost & Aid | Financial Aid.

Financial Responsibility
A student assumes full responsibility for completing each course in which he or she has registered and remains in after the refund deadline. If a student wishes to drop a course, it is the student's responsibility to do so at MyCoast. A list of drop/withdrawal deadlines may be located at the online Academic Calendar and on the student's "Student Class Program (Web Schedule Bill)" in MyCoast.
For 8-week online classes, students who submit a drop request on or before the Friday of the first week of the class will be eligible for a 100% refund of fees. Withdrawals made after this date still obligate the student to all tuition costs.

Refunds and Tuition Assistance
If employer submits payment on a student's behalf and a refund is due, the appropriate refund shall be made to the student and the employer in the same proportions as paid at the time of enrollment. Students will be personally responsible for any outstanding financial obligation due to Coastline College if their employer does not authorize or submit final payment on their behalf.
-
Obtaining a Refund
Refunds are issued weekly for all balances due to the student. Students can check the status of their refund by logging into MyCoast. The form of refund will depend on the method of original payment:
Payments made through MyCoast by credit card will be refunded back to that credit card.
Monies and financial aid disbursements that we are unable to refund to a credit card - including cash and check payments - are issued through our new partner, BankMobile, to the student's BankMobile Vibe Account or other identified method of refund.
-
BankMobile Vibe Account & Refund Preferences
Coast Community College District (CCCD) partners with BankMobile to allow students to select a refund and disbursement preference that meets their needs. Using the Refund Selection Kit and personal code that is mailed to each student at the time they are accepted, Coastline students are able to select from one of three refund preferences:
- Direct deposit into personal bank account (Recommended).
- Paper Check mailed to home address.
- Electronic Deposit into BankMobile Vibe Account (bank account with BankMobile).
To establish your refund preference, please visit Refund Selection.
Textbooks
Textbooks are provided through BHMT to students participating in the College Courses Program at Coastline College.
Enrolled students will receive a textbook voucher via email approximately two weeks prior to the start of classes. Students should wait until they received their voucher before they order their books. This voucher will allow students to order and ship (Free Shipping ONLY) course materials directly to their personal address. If a book indicates "OER Materials Used in This Course," you will not receive a textbook voucher.
Note: Textbook vouchers cover the digital/e-book only. Students who select print options in lieu of digital/e-book will be financially responsible for the difference in cost. If you receive a textbook voucher, you will use your NUID number in place of your Coastline student ID number.
Tuition Reimbursement Participants
BHMT participants using Tuition Reimbursement (not eligible for BHMT funding) are responsible for purchasing course materials. To better serve our Corporate and Contract Education students, we have partnered with Missouri Bookstore (MBS) to provide free standard shipping of textbooks and course materials orders over $99.
To find the textbooks and course materials for your course(s), please visit the Coastline Bookstore.
For more information contact us at (714) 241-6132 or email CorporateReg@coastline.edu.
Students frequently save money by renting, buying used, or purchasing e-book access for courses. If the Course Materials list indicates used, rental, or e-books are available through another source, you may research the 13-digit ISBN at Textbook Rentals.
