The Adult Education Office partners with local adult schools and community organizations to help adults transition to college. We work with on-campus departments, community organizations, and Special Programs to serve adults seeking to develop literacy and basic skills, advance their education, obtain employment, and improve their wages. Our staff is here to support you every step of your educational journey.

Are you interested in receiving one-on-one help to navigate college? Call our office to set up an appointment with Natalya Howe, Outreach Specialist, at (714) 714-7274. We are located at Coastline's Westminster - Le-Jao Campus.
The Adult Education Office is open to the public. We are available to help you in-person, by phone, email, and Zoom. Need a laptop for coursework? We can help with that, too.
Apply for Admission to Coastline
To become a Coastline student, apply online through the OpenCCC Noncredit application. After you submit your free online application, you will receive an email containing your login information for MyCoast, the student portal.
Please Note: This application is ONLY for Noncredit Classes (such as ESL, Career Skills courses, and the COAST program).
If you are interested in credit classes (college-level courses for a degree or transfer), please visit the Coastline College website and complete the credit application instead.

Core Professional Skills for Artists
Coming Fall 2025! Coastline College’s Art Department is launching the Core Professional Skills for Artists Certificate of Completion at the Newport Beach Campus. This noncredit program is designed for aspiring artists looking to refine their skills and build a strong foundation for creative careers. Taught by industry professionals, students will develop their drawing and painting techniques, create both digital and physical portfolios, and gain hands-on experience running Coastline’s new Pop-Up Gallery Store. With opportunities to showcase their work in exhibitions and craft fairs, graduates will be prepared to confidently navigate the global arts marketplace. Stay tuned for more details!

COAST Program
This is a unique, free vocational certificate program designed for students with intellectual disabilities/developmental disabilities. In this program, you’ll learn important job skills that will help you get ready for work. When you complete the program, you get to take part in a college graduation ceremony. And when you are ready to work, our Job Developer will be there to assist you in finding a job.

Dual Enrollment
Adult Education students can achieve their educational and career goals faster by earning college credits for free!
You can earn college credits at Coastline - for free - if you are enrolled in a high school diploma or equivalency program at Huntington Beach Adult School (HBAS) or Garden Grove Adult Education (GGAE). Benefits include:
- Free college classes; you pay no tuition
- No residency requirements
- Complete up to 11 units per semester
Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older
- Actively enrolled in a high school diploma or High School Equivalency Program at an adult school

If you are a returning Dual Enrollment student, a new K12 form is required for every semester. Please contact your Adult School Counselor to renew and complete the Adult Ed K12 Supplemental Application Form.
