Streamlining your transition from Coastline to a four-year institution.
Coastline students have transfer options and opportunities to attend four-year universities; Coastline's Transfer Center has the knowledge and resources for effective transfer planning.
Our mission is to provide students with the knowledge, skills, preparation, and support to successfully transfer to four-year institutions.
Coastline College's Transfer Center delivers its services with an equity-minded, student-centered approach. We prepare students with effective preparation to successfully transition from Coastline to baccalaureate-level institutions by offering the following resources and services:
Transfer students applying to a CSU must have their admissions and transfer eligibility requirements met one-semester prior to admission: if applying for Spring 2023 admission, admission and transfer eligibility requirements must be met by the end of the Summer 2022 semester. This requirement applies to all CSU 23 campuses, including CSU Fullerton, CSU Long Beach, CSU Los Angeles, CSU Dominguez Hills, Cal Poly Pomona.

Meet with a Counselor
If your current educational plan includes coursework less than 1-semester prior to admission to a CSU campus, contact Coastline Counseling at (714) 241-6162 as soon as possible for alternative options.
Tip: Make a Counseling appointment for a 'Grad Check' to ensure you are meeting transfer requirements and have a competitive application. Schedule online Counselor appointment.
Find an Associate Degree for Transfer Program that meets your education and career goals. Choose a major that has an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) or Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG).
Four-year universities have General Education Requirements and major-specific course requirements that community college transfer-bound students need to complete to be eligible and competitive for university transfer.
Meet with a counselor to determine if Option II, Option III, or Both(!) meets your educational goals. Schedule your counseling appointment, now.
During your counseling appointment update your Education Plan + Student Record (Transcript). Take action to enroll in courses you need per your major to complete 60 units and transfer without the guesswork! Save time. Save money.
Option II = ADT Transfer Degree to the California State University (CSU) with AA-T or AA-S Degree.
Option III = Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) to 6 University of California campuses.
Option II or Option III = Transfer Degree to an Independent, Private California University. Several Independent, Private CA Universities accept ADTs!
Option II or Option III = Transfer Degree to an Out-of-State University. Check each schools to find which option is accepted.
Option 1 General AA or AS will NOT meet transfer requirements. Certificates and Professional Occupational degrees lead towards jobs-career. Thinking of both job and transfer? Meet with a counselor to make transfer possible from General AA-AS or Certificate/Professional Occupational degrees.
Taking what you have learned at Coastline College and continuing on to a 4-year college or University may be the best option for you in your career path. The Transfer Center is here to help. Contact us and we will help guide you through the process - the paperwork, course requirements, and finding the right school.

CSU Local Admission and Services Areas, Impaction
CSU Fullerton's considers all Coastline transfer students' applications as local priorities! Coastline College and all OC community colleges are in CSU Fullerton's Local Admission and Service Area.
Impaction, CSU campuses receive more applications than seats available, creates competitive admission frenzy at CSU campuses in Southern California. Offers of admission will most likely be granted if students apply within their community colleges' designated CSU Local Admission and Service Areas.
What determines a CSU Local Admission and Service Area? The community college that a student completed degree and transfer verification determines the CSU Local Admission and Service Area, not student's residential address. Attended multiple community colleges? The college that verifies the degree and ADT will determine CSU Local Admission and Service Area. Where the student plans to complete their ADT - AA-T or AS-T - is asked on the CSU application under Colleges Attended.

Transfer Admission Planner (TAP)
The UC TAP tool is designed for use by students transferring from California community colleges, including those students who are seeking a Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG), with one of the six participating UC campuses. TAP is required to utilize the Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG).
Use the Transfer Admission Planner to enter coursework (completed and planned) from the very beginning of your college careers, or at any point when they decide to transfer to a UC campus. The planner helps to track progress toward meeting UC's minimum requirements, and allows UC staff to communicate important information to prospective transfer students - great way to network with the UC!
Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG)
Nothing feels better than getting a guaranteed place at one of six UC campuses. Which is exactly what TAG offers at UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Merced, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, and UC Santa Cruz. Click on the TAG link and follow the four steps to secure your UC admission guarantee.
