Building a supportive community for students interested in esports and the gaming ecosystem. Providing opportunities to improve gaming skills, networking, and teamwork.
Electronic Sports / eSports / esports is a form of sport competition using video games - competitive gaming - mostly in a team environment although there are some single person player games as well.
Competitors from different leagues or teams face off in the same games that are popular with at-home gamers: Fortnite, League of Legends, Counter-Strike, Call of Duty, Overwatch and Madden NFL, to name a few. Check out CNN's article "What is eSports?" for more info, and this article from The Sport Digest about the spelling debate.
By organizing an Esports Club for Coastline students, we're bringing together passionate (or newly interested) gamers to have fun and enhance our school community.
Everyone is welcome to join in the fun of Coastline Esports! You don't have to be a big-time gamer to participate.
The mission of the Esports Club is to build a supportive community for students interested in the esports / gaming ecosystem. The club will provide its members not just opportunities to improve their esports / gaming skills but also for networking and team building.
We wanted to emphasize that gamers of all levels and games are welcome. In fact, you don't have to be a gamer to participate. We will have events that will include streaming and cosplay. This is open to anyone that is interested in the esports ecosystem.
Welcome to the Esports Club! Please read the Esports Club Constitution and reach out - you can email cccesports@gapps.coastline.edu to learn more.
Check back here for Coastline Esport Events, where our three teams - Rocket League, Valorant, and League of Legends - will battle it out!
