Coastline provides a specialized English as a Second Language (ESL) program for foreign-born or bilingual students who need to improve their skills in speaking, comprehending, reading, or writing the English language.

Specialized classes for students from beginning to high-advanced proficiency levels are offered through Coastline's ESL department. Some advanced-level courses transfer to the CSU system. Students may choose either of the following options:
