Endowment Campaign Kicks Off
With a major donation from the Le and Jao families, the Coastline Community College Foundation has launched the "Endow The Future" endowment campaign in Fall 2005 which will focus on establishing a permanent, general funding source for Coastline Community College.
As a special incentive, donors who contribute to the endowment fund will receive recognition at Coastline's newly constructed Le-Jao Center. Each of the donors will be permanently recognized on the donor wall, which adorns the courtyard, as well as at the site of their actual named-gift opportunity.
"This special opportunity allows people to put their name, the names of loved ones, or the names of family members and friends on a building that will be a prominent part of the community for many, many years," said Mariam Khosravani, Executive Director of the Coastline Community College Foundation. "The generous donation of $1 million from the Le and Jao families has jump-started this campaign, and we've recognized their support throughout our new Center."
For information on named-gift opportunities at the Le-Jao Center, please contact the CCC Foundation by e-mail at rchapman@coastline.edu or phone at (714) 241-6154.
Our current fund-raising goal is to raise $1.5 million. In addition to the Le and Jao families, Dr. Phong H. Tran, one of our new Board Members, Coastline's faculty, staff and other community supporters have already made donations, boosting our current fund-raising total to over $1.1 million, as shown in the accompanying chart.

Foundation Overview
In 1984, it became obvious to the Coast Community College District Board of Trustees that private funding had become a necessary supplement to enable the District's three colleges to sustain their high level of quality and innovation.
The time arrived to develop new funding mechanisms for our community college system. In November 1985, Coastline Community College Foundation held its first official meeting as an incorporated 501 (C) (3) organization. The foundation serves the college as an independent organization with a full board of directors, staff allocated by the college, and a full range of activities and services to the college.
Coastline Community College is unique in that it serves many communities rather than being affiliated in only one. Founded in 1976, the fully accredited college offers classes at more than 60 sites located in coastal Orange County. In addition to class sites located in Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Seal Beach, and Westminster, many students take classes in their homes through telecourses. As a comprehensive college, Coastline offers transfer and A.A. degree programs, occupational certificates, and also serves the needs of adults needing English language skills and remedial education.
The Foundation plays a significant role in the life of the college and currently supports campaigns for computer equipment, scholarships, planned giving, and many other programs and services.
The Coastline Foundation continually searches for new and innovative ways to serve the Coastline community.
Coastline Community College is a campus without walls, and the Coastline Foundation (like its parent college) knows no barriers.
