The Coastline College Counseling department is modifying services in order to keep students and faculty safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. While in-person appointments are currently unavailable, our Counselors want you to know that we are still available to meet with students at a distance - online or over the phone.
In an effort to provide you with additional access to counseling services, the Coastline Counseling Department will offer virtual drop-in counseling beginning Monday, May 4, 2020 through Zoom.
Drop-in counseling is intended for students who have quick questions for a counselor (if you anticipate your question taking longer than 10 minutes, we encourage you to schedule an appointment through the Coastline Counseling Center).
More information can be found on our Academic Counseling page.
The CARES Act was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Trump on March 27, 2020, to provide economic relief for students due to COVID-19. The Act establishes the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund for schools to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to COVID-19. Each institution has significant discretion on how to award this emergency assistance to students. The only statutory requirement is that eligible students must use the Emergency Financial Aid Grants to cover expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to COVID-19, such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and child care.
The Department of Education requires each institution to sign the funding Certification and Agreement and submit a report regularly on how the fund is distributed. As part of the reporting requirements, Coastline College is required to disclose the following information on its website:
