Canvas Training Opportunities to be Eligible for the District Stipend (MOU)
If you have already completed our FSC100 “Teaching in Canvas” course, and have had a fully developed online or hybrid course reviewed, you will need to register for additional training required by the MOU to receive the stipend. This course is titled FSC50 “RSI & Attendance Training” and includes important information concerning Regular Substantive Interaction (RSI) and Attendance (LDA).
First session begins February 13, 2017
FSC150 Teaching in Canvas - (Session will be available in March for new faculty teaching in Summer)
Before teaching an online or hybrid course, instructors need to complete this training course and have the online or hybrid course reviewed and approved for delivery.
This is a facilitated online training course to prepare faculty to successfully use Canvas either in their online course or to supplement their on-site or hybrid course. This course also covers laws and regulations for Accessibility (Section 508 and ADA), Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI), and reporting Last Date of Attendance (LDA).
Coastline's Faculty Success Center will provide:
- Leadership and Support in teaching and learning
- Guidance with exploring innovative teaching strategies in all modalities
- Design, technical and pedogogical support while developing courses
The FSC is located in the building adjacent to Coastline College Center at 17075 Newhope Ave., Fountain Valley, CA 92708. The door is just to the left of the Social Security door. Ring the doorbell and someone will let you in.

Video Request Form
This form is for requesting links to videos (Telecourse Lessons) produced by Coast Learning Systems. The video links are for use within your CCC online and/or hybrid courses only.
Canvas Online TEACHING Course
The Faculty Success Center (FSC) is now offering multiple sections of our required "Teaching Online in Canvas" course and will continue through the summer! Beginning in the summer term, courses will ONLY be offered in Canvas. All instructors need to complete the online training and complete the course review process in order to receive an official course shell. In this required 3.5 - 4 week synchronous, facilitated fully online course you will learn how to use Canvas and the importance of the supporting pedagogy and accessibility issues, plus you will build and develop your first course!
Everyone will need to complete the online training. There will be support provided in the FSC although there aren't any face to face training sessions in place of this online course. Please check your Coastline email address for updates during the semester!
Registration is open now! At this time, registration is open for all instructors getting ready to teach in the Fall. Training needs to be completed before the end of May, and all courses submitted for review by June 30th.

- Log in with your school credentials
- Click on the Employee Tab
- Find the "Other Employee Resources" channel (right column)
- Click lynda.com Training Videos
- You will be redirected to lynda.com site
YES!!! Now that you are logged into the lynda.com website:
- Click on your name on the top right menu bar
- Click on My Profile > Edit to change the image etc.
- Click SAVE
Next, Click on Browse Library
Locate the PlayList Center link (right side of the smaller window)
Begin exploring the prebuilt playlists by subject or theme.
