High schoolers invited to experience a college class at College Preview Day
High school students from throughout the Huntington Beach Union High School District, the Newport Mesa Unified School District, and the Garden Grove Unified School District are invited to attend Coastline’s upcoming College Preview Day scheduled for April 24, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The event will be held at the college’s newest ocean-adjacent campus located at 1515 Monrovia in Newport Beach.
“This is going to be a very unique event in that College Preview Day attendees will be able drop-in on real college classes that are being held the day of the event,” said Cristina Arellano, who conducts outreach for the three-campus college.
College faculty members who have agreed to open their classes to visitors include those who teach Art Gallery Production, Drawing, College Algebra, Human Anatomy, Intermediate Algebra, Paralegal Studies, U.S. History, Psychology, and Physics.
In addition to drop-in classes, attendees to the College Preview Day event will have a chance to tour the campus, talk with representatives of different college programs and services, and obtain information on registration and financial aid. Attendees will also receive a free goodie bag, t-shirt, and lunch from So Cal’s famous TK Burgers.
Space is limited and RSVPs are required. For more information or to RSVP as an individual or a high school group, please call (714) 546-7600 ext. 16427 or e-mail email@example.com.
