NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA–April 28, 2014– Coastline Community College hosts film festival mixer at its Newport Beach campus in celebration of the 15th Annual Newport Beach Film Festival. More than 100 film makers, producers, and festival enthusiasts gathered at the campus to recognize mind-expanding film and art.

"The Coastline Art Gallery is participating in the Newport Beach Film Festival because we are part of the 2013 Orange County Museum of Arts Architectural Tour, says Coastline Art Gallery Curator, David Lee. We opened the Art Gallery on a weekend for people to visit and that is where I met Gregg Schwenk, CEO, Executive Director, and Founder of the Newport Beach Film Festival. He really liked the Newport Beach Campus and Art Gallery and wanted to work with Coastline to coordinate a film festival event, and here we are making it happen with such wonderful film makers and local business owners who are here to contribute and support art on diverse levels."

The Coastline Newport Beach Art Gallery plans to host more events at its new campus. The objective of these kinds of events is to showcase the brilliant art that Coastline students create at the art gallery and to invite and encourage participation from local businesses and community members who are not aware of Coastline's Newport Beach campus and the Art Gallery.

"Most people in the local community are not aware that Coastline is right around the corner to their businesses and residences," says Jane Bauman, Coastline Art Professor. "Coastline is working to build meaningful relationships and partnerships with the community through effective outreach and events that we host. It is important for businesses and community members to know that we exist and are contributing to the community through the programs and resources that we offer."

The film festival is one of many events that the Coastline Newport Beach Art Gallery hosts on campus. The campus is listed on the Orange County Film Commission website as a location to seek for photo shoots, filming, and events. Coastline's Newport Beach campus is located at 1515 Monrovia, Newport Beach, and is the prime location to host premier events. The campus overlooks the water on the coast and offers spectacular reception areas in the art gallery, second floor lounge, and scenic rooftop deck. Local businesses and community members are encouraged to attend events on campus and at art gallery.

The Coastline Newport Beach campus and Art Gallery also provides opportunities for faculty members to host dinners on the campus. The Coastline Foundation has also hosted events that have been open to the public.

"We want to use the Coastline's Newport Beach Campus's architectural space as stage for dance, music venues, film festivals, and performances," says Lee, Coastline Art Gallery Curator. "I'm excited to be part of the film festival because about 90% of the people at this event have never seen the campus or art gallery and I'm pleased that they have the opportunity to see what Coastline has to offer."
