Coastline Foundation

Mission Statement

The mission of the Coastline Community College Foundation is to support students through scholarships, endowment and other financial programs to expand the capacity to meet the diverse needs of Coastline students and the community.

Foundation Overview

In 1984, it became obvious to the Coast Community College District Board of Trustees that private funding had become a necessary supplement to enable the District's three colleges to sustain their high level of quality and innovation. The time arrived to develop new funding mechanisms for our community college system. In November 1985, Coastline Community College Foundation held its first official meeting as an incorporated 501 (C) (3) organization. The foundation serves the college as an independent organization with a full board of directors, staff allocated by the college, and a full range of activities and services to the college and receives gifts of time, talent and resources from hundreds of donors each year, who are committed to changing a life...one student at a time. Coastline Community College is unique in that it serves many communities rather than being affiliated in only one. Founded in 1976, the fully accredited college offers classes at more than 60 sites located in coastal Orange County. In addition to class sites located in Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Seal Beach, and Westminster, many students take classes in their homes online or through telecourses. As a comprehensive college, Coastline offers transfer and A.A. degree programs, occupational certificates, and also serves the needs of adults needing English language skills and remedial education. The Foundation plays a significant role in the life of the college and currently supports campaigns for computer equipment, scholarships, planned giving, and many other programs and services.

The Coastline Foundation continually searches for new and innovative ways to serve the Coastline community. Coastline Community College is a campus without walls, and the Coastline Foundation (like its parent college) knows no barriers. Contact the Foundation at foundation@coastline.edu or call (714) 241-6154.

President's Circle members are part of the Coastline "family" that plays a critical role in the success of the Foundation and Coastline Community College.

Scholarships and Endowments

There are many ways that one can provide educational opportunities for students. Individuals, corporations and organizations are invited to make a contribution to establish a new scholarship fund or contribute to an existing scholarship fund. One may also establish an endowment gift, which is a permanent fund that provides annual income for a scholarship. Please read for more information.

Planned Giving

Giving to education can be done in multiple ways, helping you address a variety of personal financial goals. We're ready to work with you and your advisors to devise a gift plan that best meets your goals and objectives. For more information please contact Mariam Khosravani , or call 714-241-6159.

Scholarships & Endowments

Give a Student the Gift of a Lifetime: Donate a Scholarship Today!

Coastline Community College has changed the lives of many students through the annual Student Scholarship Awards Program. Scholarships provided by private donations, in addition to business and industry, have enabled Coastline students to make a difference in the communities they serve.

How Will My Donation Change a Student's Life?

Many scholarship recipients are first-time college students, re-entry adults, career changers or single parents striving to complete their educational goals. For these students, a scholarship award can make a profound difference in the continued success of their college program or career.

How Can I Support the Program?

To contribute to the Scholarship Program, mail a completed donor form and your tax deductible donation, payable to the Coastline College Foundation, to the address as shown on the application. There is no limit to the amount you may donate. Donors of $250 or more may choose a title for their scholarship(s) (e.g., The John Doe Scholarship of Excellence) and recommend criteria for the award. You also may wish to contribute to a general endowment fund where the interest is used to fund new scholarships.

How Will I Be Recognized for My Contribution?

Your generosity will be noted in several Coastline publications, including the Scholarship Reception Program, Graduation Program, and Annual Report. In addition, for any donation of $500 or more, your name will be added to our Wall of Recognition located at the College Center in Fountain Valley. Donors of $250 or more will be invited to meet the recipients and present their scholarships at the 2013-2014 Scholarship Awards Reception, to be held on May 1, 2014. Donor Application Form (PDF Document). For more information, please call (714) 241-6154 or email foundation@coastline.edu .
