Classified Employee Scholarship

The Classified Senate is pleased to announce that the Classified Employee Scholarship application is now available online! Please use this link to Apply Now.

Have you gone back to school? Could you use some money to pay for your education? Only those who apply will be considered! Is there a temporary/hourly staff member in your department that is going to school? Please share this information with them.

The deadline to submit the application is Monday, March 10th.

Open House for Veteran’s Resource Center
VRC Open House Feb. 27

On Thursday, February 27, 2014, Coastline hosted an open house for the Veteran’s Resource Center. It was an event veterans, students, faculty, and staff didn’t want to miss! Guests of the event enjoyed music, food, beverages, and prizes as they learned what the Veteran’s Resource Center is all about.


A special lecture was conducted by Dr. Marshall Thomas from VET NET Ally, and on-site representatives were available to participants of the open house, providing information about academic counseling, military transcript evaluations, financial assistance, the V.A. Mobile Vet Center, and much more.

Coastline Team

Programs of the open house included: the STAR program, Team AMVET, Mainstream Support Services, and the ABI Program. The event concluded with a raffle where veterans won special prizes.


Special guests included, President Lori Adrian, Ph.D., Christine Nguyen, Vice President of Administration, Vince Rodriguez, Vice President of Instruction/Student Services, John Colson, Interim Vice President of Student Services, and Mary Hornbuckle, President of the Board of Trustees.

Welcome Nhadira Johnson, New Acting Director of Marketing and Public Relations!
Nhadira Johnson

Coastline is proud to welcome Nhadira Johnson as their new Acting Director of Marketing and Public Relations. Nhadira joins Coastline with nearly 15 years of experience working in the nonprofit, private, education, and public sectors.

Nhadira also works as a marketing and advertising instructor at the University of California, Irvine Extension for two graduate-level courses, and enjoys volunteering for local nonprofit organizations.

She grew up in San Diego, California and graduated from San Jose State University with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and a minor in Radio/Television/Film. Nhadira also holds a master’s degree from the University of Washington in Public Administration.

2014 Innovations Conference Coastline Speakers

Coast Community College and North Orange Community College District, co-hosted the prestigious Innovations 2014 Conference from March 2-5, 2014, at the Anaheim Marriott.

Dr. Lori Adrian was honored to provide brief welcome remarks on behalf of Chancellor Jones during the opening session and the amazing Coast Host Planning Team. President of the Board, Mary Hornbuckle, represented the Board of Trustees during the opening session. Also in attendance were members of the host planning team, and all of our All-Star volunteers from Coastline, Golden West College, Orange Coast College, and the District Office.

Coastline presented nine sessions by the following Coastliners:

  • Carol Spoja, Senior Staffing Assistant Specialist

Special thanks to all our faculty, staff, and managers who served as volunteers and presenters. We had a total of 27 volunteers and 13 presenters. The conference is a huge success because of you!

We also commend Dr. Martha Parham for her leadership as the steering committee co-chair. Dr. Parham and Kristen Le did a fabulous job in organizing and coordinating various host events.
