Having fun with Classified Senate

Your Classified Senate has been very busy over the last few weeks! On Tuesday, December 10, they held their annual Craft Fair Fundraiser. There were over 25 vendors selling a variety of goods. This was the first time that Jamba Juice joined the group and we are hoping they come back for many years! Many people shopped for holiday gifts, and there were great raffle prizes given away. It was a tremendous success and fun was had by all.

On Wednesday, the Classified Senate held a Holiday Potluck Luncheon at College Center. About forty people participated and there was plenty of great food and good cheer.

ASG continues the good cheer with their participation in “Operation Santa Claus”

Coastline’s Associated Student Government is continuing our tradition of participating in “Operation Santa Claus,” a program sponsored by the Orange County Foster Care Auxiliary to provide gifts for needy children. Many of these kids will spend their holidays in foster care and deserve some gifts to bring some comfort and love to their lives.

We also have low-income elderly, blind, and disabled adults who will be facing hard times during the holidays. Age-specific Tags are available in the President’s Office now. Attach the Angel Tag to your unwrapped gift and return it to the President’s Office before December 18.

Learn how to reduce your carbon footprint with a free App

The California Air Resources Board has released a free mobile application for both iTunes and Android platforms that aims to inspire people and small businesses to reduce their carbon footprints. This free App is available for download on both the iTunes App Store and Google Play Store. It shows people an easy-to-use tool for calculating their carbon footprint and making pledges to reduce their carbon footprint by, for example, riding a bike more often or turning off lights.
