OVERVIEW

Coastline's STAR Program helps you complete your coursework faster so that you can get in, get out, and get working! Many STAR students are also just looking for a fast-track path to a 4-year university, and STAR helps them accumulate the units they need to transfer. Participants in the STAR Program are guaranteed their classes.

Students can complete 60 transferable units in just 4.0 semesters by completing 4 semesters plus one summer session. To see the courses included in each cluster, see below.

The new focus for the STAR Program is our 'major' specific format. Students may select one of the following majors: Business Administration, Pre-Allied Health or Psychology to complete necessary units to graduate and/or transfer in the 4 semester timeframe.

Coastline Community College has designed a streamlined, seamless transfer degree to meet the needs of students who desire to transfer to a CSU Business Administration, Pre-Allied Health or Psychology program with particular emphasis on transfer to CSUDH, CSUF, and CSULB. Students who are recent high school graduates will participate in an on-site delivery model; and, other students will participate in the online format. Students participating in the STAR Program will be guaranteed enrollment into their co-hort classes.

Courses are grouped according to content compatibility, and STAR courses may utilize the 8 week format but there will be courses which must retain their 16 week format.
