Gerontology

Coastline College’s major and certificate in gerontology was developed using the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education’s National Guidelines for Gerontology Programs and can be completed totally online in as little as one-year. For more information download our Program Brochure. The Gerontology Program has received awards and recognition including a California Virtual Campus Model Course of the Year and the Instructional Technology Council National Award for Program Excellence.

Changing demographics are making the study of the aging process an important addition to every field of study. Gerontology is not only a field of study to major in; it is becoming an important minor for every major. Our program strives to offer practical applications of theories in aging that can be used in everyday life.

An Employment Link for Jobs in California

Coastline's Gerontology Program is a Job Posting Affiliate for the California Council on Gerontology and Geriatrics. Jobs posted to our site are automatically uploaded to CCGG's Statewide database of jobs related to the aging field. Employers wishing to post opportunities go through a simple process to become approved and are then given a code that allows them to post, change and update their openings. Those seeking employment may search the site by a number of parameters, including location and salary range.

Post or view job listings.
